Theme for #201 week was – Bad Connection.
I have been reading blogs about deconstructing games to understand their mechanics on what makes it fun to play. Some of the genres are particularly interesting – like Tower Defense where the waves and upgrades needs to be carefully designed to have a balance.
I always wondered what if we turn the tables on such genres? Like reverse the whole mechanic in Tower Defense where you design and send out the wave. The CPU will manage the towers? Or what if there is a purposeful ‘lag’ introduced in the game?
With ‘Bad connection’ as theme, I went and explored this idea and made a prototype game where there is a 1ms lag in your input and what it does in the game.
You can play it in Itch. Hope you enjoy it!
