CodeFruits : Teaching computational thinking skills through hand gestures.

Researchers in the past have explored several interactive tools and techniques to teach students abstract concepts of programming and computational thinking. In CodeFruits, we are exploring hand gestures as an input interaction mechanism. These hand gestures represent different elements of programming languages such as functions and parameters. We have developed a gesture based interactive game which implicitly helps K-12 students to learn abstract concepts of computational thinking and write a computational code in an easier, playful and engaging way.

Conceptualized the narrative and game-play to make it interesting to children and developed prototype in Unity.  Designed multiple levels for players to progress and apply their learning.
